[size=12.8000001907349px]When i come down fast and my quad is low enough and want to counteract the descending i give full throttle but it takes a while before my quad gives the power. Do i have to increase the vertical gain which is already on 150%? I was thinking to increase it to 200.

If you are used to flying in sport mode on other flight controller / copters where you have direct control of the copter throttle the altitude hold mode can seem this way.
You are controlling rate of altitude increase / decrease as you move from throttle mid-stick position.
Increasing vertical gain will increase the aggressiveness of the increase /decrease but it will not react like direct throttle control.
