I lost mine (for my AIR) within a week (did the same with the Mavic Pro). It does make you wonder why they make them dark and diaphenous. I'd only be less suspicious if they made them camouflaged as grass.
Anyway, also incompetance in losing it.

So I've put some red tape on the top of it and Iwas going to drill a hole in the top of it and put some string through and try and attach it to the Mavic case. But it's a nice case. Has anyone tried this yet?

lol not taking the mickey but seriously!!!. Its an integral part to the aircraft, like a prop or the controller. Why not put it in the case, bag, zipped pocket, front trouser pocket, dashboard of the car or someplace safe? No offence but i get a pang of frustration in me when I hear people lost things like this lol. They are cheap enough anyway to replace. Where abouts in the UK are you?

I'm in London. It cost me 12 pounds to replace it.
I DID put it in a trouser pocket.* I swear to god. But I have no idea where it went.

*it's possible I might not have put it in a trouser pocket.

May I suggest after removal, attach one of these.

Might work out if you get a small keyring loop. Drill two small holes to feed the keyring loop through and attach a small carabiner clip to the loop. This way when you take it off you can clip it to a belt loop.

That's a great idea. I was planning on attaching it loosely to the inside of the case.

I did drill a small hole into it, and with a string, I attached those little banners "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT"
So, I don't forget it anymore to remove it, and its always easy to find back.

If you don't fancy drilling holes (dust gets in) epoxy a ring to the bottom.

I put a long red ribbon on mine, attached with sticky velcro on both the bubble and the ribbon.  Every now and then, I have to replace one of the velcro's, but I NEVER forget to remove the bubble before flying.  And, in your case, make it a loooooooooooong red ribbon,

When I pull the Mavic out of the case, the cover(s) and gimbal clamp are removed at the same time and stay in the case.

Same here. Main reason is so that I do not power up with it attached and the second so that I do not misplace it.

Exactly. This is for my Mavic Air but same thing when I had the Mavic Pro

Now what I do is I have a system. I open the case, I take out the Air, I remove the gimbal clamp and put it somewhere I definitely won't be able to find it. Then I zip up the case and begin preparing for take off.

do you think that a red or other colors clamp fit for a black or white drone?

In the washing machine? Same place my garage remote ended up one time. That thing kept on working through the whole wash and dry cycles.
