Does anyone know if the transmitter on the P3 can function as the slave transmitter on the Inspire1? The slave being the one to control the camera gimbal on the Inspire while the master controls the flight. I am buying the Inspire and want the 2 transmitters. But if the P3 transmitter works I would rather buy the single transmitter Inspire and spend a little bit more and get the P3 Advanced and use it's transmitter when needed.

They are not compatible.

Well, it seems like it should work, and I plan on trying when the Apple ap is released. I had that same thought.  
I'll test it out and get back to you

I have read also that the controller will not link to the inspire or the inspire contoller, I could not find the link.
