Hi all,

Out of frustration (and a cold winter), I divorced myself from the marathon angst of a firmware update that nearly crippled both my P4.   But as Spring gets closer, I'm starting to feel the bug to get out and fly again.  So I want to know the snapshot of how the new firmware (and accompanying software) are performing for you.

I've ready many many many long posts and have concluded that I just need a synopsis.  Might be interesting for all in this forum too.

Click as many as you need, let me know if I should add more topics.  
I guess the bottom line is, are DJI engineers moving the platform in the right direction?  i.e. are they still making things worse with FW updates or are they finally making things better?

It was new firmware v02.00.0700 for Phantom 4 Pro?

I thought I missed a couple of updates.............

Wrong forum. Fw 02.00.0700 belongs to Phantom 4 aircraft and not P4P.

It’s a poll on how 700 may or may not have improved people’s drones. If you haven’t  updated then the poll is not for you.

You can add "I did update but not tested it yet"

I updated yesterday but haven't tested yet either. I am planning on testing it today though...

On anotha note, I'm still trying to understand why dji haven't given those of us with the P4 the firmware update for the Pano & Quick Shot feats...? I'm really not feeling that. I mean, after all of the mavic pro complaints about the mavic air having those feats, they (dji) turned around & gave mavic pro that update. I also own the mavic pro but decided to buy the P4 instead of spending more money on having dji fix the same gimble issues I've had be4... I really believe we P4 owners should be given that damn update...

It did, indeed, take far too long. Whilst it appears that 700 has fixed the stability and some other issues, the contempt with which DJI treated its customers during the entire process will likely ensure that many will never buy another DJI product. DJI’s entire process relied on initial denial and, even when a problem was acknowledged, they removed any ability to downgrade thereby removing owners’ one and only means of resolution and resulting in many users having unusable drones for over 7-8 months. A truly despicable handling of the issues by DJI

Mine howls on landing with .700 so a new problem.  I thought a bearing was failing from the noise.

What troubles me is DJI takes so long to fix a software or firmware issue that their warranty becomes invalid.  Six months warranty on their batteries once the cash register closes, yet it takes seven months for the firmware fix - which seems to bring on other issues like shaking and noisy landings.  This would be a good ethics topic at college for business conspiracy to dodge warranties for maximum profit by delaying systemic repairs.

If their batteries were intelligent by design, they should last much longer and have a better warranty too.  Some of my old RC batteries are years old and still working.  Same for my battery powered construction tools, and even my three-year old phone that gets charged daily.

v0700 has fixed the camera reboot bug found when using 4K30fps that was created with v0106, unfortunately all they've done is now moved the exact same problem to 1080@120fps. I am not a happy DJI owner!

Seeing the results of the poll it would help me decide if I want to update or wait for the new fix. But  because of your comment I voted just to see the results.

if I have to answer the question from this topic`s author - yes, things definitely getting better! It took me about 3/4 weeks to solve almost every problem about "firmware update" but now i can say it`s possible and if you have enough motivation and patience, don`t give up and don`t ask DJI support for help until you`ve done everything you can!


Now my only one prob is some graphics issue on my tablet - as you can see on two bottom pictures, small map on the left bottom corner is offset relative to frame around it.. My tab is Huawei Mediapad M3 8.4" with Andoid 7.0

LOL, good point. Mine was basically grounded during the shaky firmware issue. Killed 4 months of warranty.

I have had no issues to date. What everyone needs to remember is you must restart your P4 and remote after upgrading......VERY IMPORTANT!

You and many others. The good news is that 700 appears to have resolved most of the stability issues (after eight months of waiting). For me, the desire is now to have stable firmware and software for as long as my P4 lasts. I don’t want DJI fiddling with any new features. Some folk may be experiencing some ongoing problems with 700 and those certainly need to be fixed but, for me, 700 is working fine.

Just updated my P4 and tested
I'm quite pleased with the stability at higher altitude.
Control of the p4 is very responsive and camera has no issues so far.
Not a pro by any means but think this update is solid.

I agree. I would also like to see the current state of the poll somehow, before I do any updates. Not willing to just point an option to get there, as that would skew the poll.

I'm still flying mine with 1.02.0602 and RC: 1.6.0 Calibrations and stuff with DJI GO 4.1.0 and main flying with Litchi (latest version) all for iOS. A dream come true. I don't think I'm moving from these numbers...

My p4 worked perfectly until I update to the latest firmware, now I have the vibration problem and the video feed cuts out at .5 of a km 1/4 mile radio/drone lost signal, not happy waiting for a fix. Yes i've tried everything suggested on this site and then some. Only thing I like to know is how to dump latest firmware and revert to previous firmware?

exactly same with my p4.

No problems until I updated. Now, i have vibrations and video feed cuts at around a fraction of the range my p4 used to achieve prior to the update.

I really do hope DJI fixes this. I love my p4 and i am still looking forward to a hundred more flight times with it.

Did you lose the ability to change radio frequency 2.4 or 5.8 ghz in the app under HD ?

The P4 only uses the 2.4GHz band.
