Well not always true.  I have had a smallish drone that will fly much longer on a small battery than most of my DJI stuff.  The secret is prop loading.  IE weight of the drone divided into the circular area of the props.  The smaller the number the more efficient the drone.

I've never thought about it, but it's obviously true, bigger drones have longer flying times. The thing that I like about tiny drones with their little batteries,  their charging time is usually a lot faster, there are some that are ready to go again after just 15 minutes of charging.
