I just bought a brand new barebones phantom 3 advanced as I have wrecked the last one. I transfered the camera over and paired the remote succesfully. I went to open the app and saw that I had the camera view and the this seqience of "activation" screens came up. Every time I try to avtivate it says activation failed. I spent 2 days via facebook DJI helpdesk to no succes. They said they activated it Manually but it still says activation failed.I have tried it on 2 tablets and 2 cell phones. I unistalled and reinstalled multiple times to no avail. When I went to reinstall the app on one of the tablets it said it is no longer compatible. but the others are an Ipad mini with latest updates..also did reinstall of the app after that. an LG g6 cell, and a galaxy s7 edge...and still can't get a successfull activation. Why not just make the app work without this activation BS. I know they say its for warranty. then why not just advise people to go online and fill warranty info or it wont be covered instead of making us regret ever spending money at DJI.

hello i had the same problem ..... try an old app to activate not the last version  , i solved it in this way

once done the activation with an old version of Dji ...then you can unistalll the old version and install the new ...... I lost 4 days of my life trying to activate my drone, the answers here were that my wifi was not powerful, that my phone was not compatible bla bla bla ..., I found in a forum this activation problem and that was the solution I found , activate with an old version of Dji ....

What logs??..It's a brand new drone and I haven't been able to calibrate the compass, let alone log any flights.

I think it is probabaly dji's way of keeping track of equipment for warranty puposes...for instance like my problem...I bought a brand new bare bones drone still in the box but my camera and remote are a couple years old...I think it's so they can determine what is or isn't covered by warranty...However, it seems the software has some issues.

Been trying older versions for several days since you post...No luck there either

Went out and bought a new tablet..Samsung Galaxy tab A...no luck with activation on that either

Sorry for the confusion. The log I mentioned here is the active file, which is related to the activation. Please refer the pathway in 15# to see whether you can find the file.

The folder  named LOG is empty.. I also checked other folders and they are also empty
