¿If it had a rechargeable "18650" Lithium battery on one of its arms just to power up gps signal?

I mean, it weights roughly 48g and you could potencially retrieve drifting / fail rth / falling drones. ¿Right?

Not powering down the internal GPS, i mean, in future developments how can we (or how can DJI) avoid so many lost drones by gps or other related failures (including user fails as well).

The ultimate solution would be a built-in cellular GPS tracker running off its own separate power supply.  Are we likely to see this?  Probably not.

Or maybe a DJI approved standalone GPS tracker that is warrantied for use with the bird. Optional unit would keep the cost down of the bird and will be designed with an appropriate mount as well as placement that won’t contribute to a flyaway
