why does the phantom 4 pro plus controller have an hdmi out and the 4 pro doesnt?

Does anyone know the difference???

I'm guessing DJI would have to answer why. However, the non + controller for the Phantom 4 along with the Phantom 3 can be upgraded with a $99 HDMI module.

DJI, can you answer my question above? Why are the modules different on the p4p controller and the p4p+ controller? Do they make a black module to match the Obsidian p4p controller?

MrJayd as Jeff says one of the differences between the Pro and the Pro+ is the fact that you can use a secondary screen, this is either 2 tablets so someone else can see what you see or so you can use DJI goggles or any other FPV goggles like the FatShark HD v.3. Also another thing is the upgraded mondule is for using the LightBridge HD recording device/s. The module is available to buy as an upgrade for all of the 300 series RCs that use the OTG module (P3A, P3 4K, P3P, P4,  P4A and P4P) for around $100US or £80UK see link below, again like Jeff said. Before anyone asks, this won't fit the P3S or P3SE as they use a different controller.

At the end of the day the Pro+ is higher model that costs more because it has more features than the P4P, like the better module for one. Not sure if they make a dark grey upgrade module but the white one will still fit.
You could ring DJI suport and ask for a part number, if the phantom 4 pro+ obsidian has the HDMI module then I guess you must be able to buy it sepperately.

From my understanding the AddOn HDMI only does 720P but the one build-in on the + goes to 1024P so better resolution on HDMI from the +RC's.

Yes I think that is correct, although 720p in FPV probably still looks great, but agree no so good if you want to record via the HDMI.

I am thinking of getting one for my P4 controller and get the FatShark HD v.3 like Ken Heron uses.

If I use a crystalsky will the hdmi on that do the same thing as having one on my controller?

I Would think so but have no experience with other than the +RC and display on that.
From the CrystalSky FAQ  to judge you would have even better resolution on that output but be aware that there might be some issues with some third party Apps as things stand.

4.What are the ports on the CrystalSky monitor?
