There's 2 different ones. One is Apple, the other, Android. I ordered the Android one. It's supposed to be here today, I'll let you know if it works.

Oh I was reading above that there's only 1 controller compatible, which only works with iOS? I assume that was incorrect? Thanks for the clarification.

There's a new forum dedicated to the Tello. Not sure if the DJI admins allow posting about other forums or not, I reckon if it's not, they'll throw me into the Pit of Misery, Dilly Dilly.

I frankly find the Tello a less more attractive drone given how low the Spark has dropped in price.

I heard that the Gamesir T1s works for android but I don't know if it works for iOS.

I have iOS so I would be interested to know which controller will work?

Not yet, and I'm not sure DJI will do that.

Mine came today, currently have it charging. The battery was at 4% out of the box so it wouldn't take off due to low battery alarm.

Odd how bluetooth is disaster any where near spark, but might connect RC to tello .

Personally I ordered the following MFi controller to use with IOS:  Mad Catz C.T.R.L.i Mobile Gamepad (price dropped on amazon)
I hope it will work, however I won't get the Tello before beginning April so I can't give hands on experience.

I've flown it twice now. It's amazingly stable indoors, haven't tried it outside yet. I've never flown without physical joysticks before and using the ones in the app takes some getting use to. Overall, it's fun to fly.

That would sort of be needed to be able to get an icon I guess.

I feel the same. I've posted elsewhere that it really needs a standalone charger, more batteries and some software to run the game controller...all of which they say is in the works. Unfortunately I can't get either of the controllers to link up to the app. I've got an android phone which flies it fine. It's been in the air  several times but with one battery it's a short flight coupled with an hour+ charge time. The Tello is very stable but the virtual joysticks are not very user friendly, especially in a light breeze. I'll also add that it's built pretty tough. On the down side there seems to be quite a bit of video lag...enough that using a headset might be an issue. Not sure if it's an android thing.

Takes some time to get the status 'done', but after that you will see the credit in your account on the DJI store.

I think this product will just take away sales from other DJI Drones where you see YouTube videos of kids flying their Mavic Pro on Facebook live streams, etc.

You fly it with the Tello app. You do not register it with DJI, there's no login in the app at all. I doubt they'll make an icon since there's no way for them to know you have it.

I also can't wait to get my hands on the Tello! Unfortunately, I think they don't offer a carring-bag yet via DJI?

No.  I have a really nice Parrot Mambo that serves me well when my flying is indoors or within 30m.  I use it to "train" my friends before they progress to using my Spark:-)

So I have had mine for several days now and have used it with SteelSeries - Nimbus Wireless Controller and a Gamevice controller with no problems at all.  I think it is a great little drone for inside.  Very stable and the flight modes that I have tried work well.  I don't think that I will even try to fly it outside even though it would probably do fine if there was no wind.  All and all it is a fun little drone and I am satisfied with my purchase.  I would recommend it for someone that wants something just to fly around in the house for fun.
