Is it definitely a Sandisk Ultra? Or rather a Sandisk Extreme? An ultra is a U1 (10mb/s transfer rate), which for 1080p and 2k should be fine, but for the 100mbit 4k will be too slow. This is according to Air's specs on DJi's site, which recommends minimum Sandisk Extreme or equivalent.

Yes it is Ultra.. then that is why it is slow will look for Extreme or Pro then.. may be few 32 or 16 max but few of them

Ultra is too slow for the MA. Go for the Extreme PLUS or the Extreme PRO.

EDIT: Sorry - I was also to slow now... need an upgrade.

Yup then that's defo too slow...Such is the world of better drones...higher recording rates, higher quality....higher dent in your wallet
I use a 64GB "Extreme" (no plus or anything else) and it does the job just fine. Amazon do some good prices on them so take a look.

nothing on Amazon Australia with a bit of research it seems the Samsung Evo Plus "new 2017 version" is good.. 35% cheaper than the sandisk.. may be worth the saving.. Sandisk on my car blackvue recorder will only last for a week..

You can try to format the SD card via PC, the recommended cluster size is 128KB. We don't recommend recording with this SD card if it still displayed a slow SD card after formatting it. We're not able to confirm the compatibility of other types of SD cards, therefore, we advise using the recommended SD cards which have been tested and verified and could ensure the full functions. Thank you for your support. sd card.png

Yes the card is formatted by the MA and has 128 cluster size.. i think it is the actual speed of the card.. works ok so far.

The difference of U1 and U3 you can watch here. The video have english subtitles.

From the U3 I just did a written Review till now. But the result table should be simple to understand.

So the recording is normal, the video result is normal but the app displays Slow SD card, right?

You need a U3 class card (minimum guaranteed sustained speed of 30MB/s). The Sandisk Ultra is a U1 (minimum guaranteed sustained speed of 10MB/s). U1 class cards can likely cope with some 4k but are not guaranteed. I suspect somehow the Air detects the card class and then reports U1 as too slow as it can't be guaranteed to work with the 4k data rate.

@DJI - you really need to make this clear. The literature for supported cards is misleading as it makes people think that a C10 card is fine. But the C ratings are designed for photo (burst speed) and not video, where the U ratings were created for sustained speed. You need to tell people that they need a U3 card for 4k video.

This may help, but it can confuse as some cards that are rated highly on UHS-II do not do well in UHS-1 speed.

I never have any problems using the SanDisk Extreme range with any of my drones.

The Air shows them as slow but works ok apart from that.. the 4K 30 fps 100 Mbps is really smashing it

Filming in c.4K at 60fps with 100MBPS on my P4P works perfectly so that's odd.

Yes, the Samsung EVO Plus will work. I have several and the lower price is a nice bonus.

Strange.. could be an improved processor that requires better speed?

P4P uses a dual H.265 codec so it must just be the SD card. The ultra range tends not to deliver the goods on 4K drones
