I was browsing through the Spark specifications when I saw this:

which I found quite optimistic. In my experience, I usually see a maximum speed of a little more than 30kph (less than 20mph), in both directions, so wind isn't a factor. In my app it says that one time, I had achieved a top speed of 44kph (27.5mph), but I suspect there must have been some wind pushing it. What top speed do you usually see? And what is the top speed recorded in your logfile?

I might have hit my top speed the day that I shot this. It was ridiculously windy on the front side of the mountain and I didn't even think I was going to be able to fly my drone back to me.

The beginning of this video has most passes at 24-ish.  A few of the last passes are longer and get to 30-32.5mph from a standing start.  That is the speed according to the log.  I was just doing passes over the camera and myself.  

I got 65.7 kph guess i was ripping lol!

That's amazing...! Do you think it was actually flying that fast, or could it be a GPS miscalculation? I'm asking the question because that's almost twice its nominal top speed, so if it was pushed by the wind to such a high speed, it must have been very hard to control, and also fighting very hard to fly the other way?

I've watched the video, and this looks like mine when I'm flying back and forth in sport mode, but I don't think that's 30mph/50kph. If the log says so, it has either hit that speed for a very short time, or it could also be a miscalculation, it just doesn't look like 30mph to me. It's probably more like 20mph.

Thx! Is your Spark modded in any way? Or was it a windy day?

No mods jist regular winter flying. However i did have a few flyaways that was able to get back control of (quickly switched to sport mode and back) that may have been where it reached top speed I'm not sure,But not windy flying.

It was very hard to control and at one point I thought the wind was blowing it away faster than I could fly it back. It was just a gust though and when it died down I flew it back, changed my underwear and did not fly from that side of the mountain again.
EDIT: It could very well be a crappy GPS connection with miscalculated speed.

My flight history says 34mph, but I’ve had to reset it and I know it used to be higher than that. I don’t remember the exact number though.

Not been flying long, Only had my spark for about a month but this is my stats.

My Spark has achieved 53.9km/h as per the DJI Go 4 App. It was a windy day

I typically see speed range anywhere from 27.5 mph to 29.5 mph, I don't really see speeds of 30+mph anymore since my first few days flying the Spark. I think my fastest recorded speed is 34.2 mph when I flew the Spark right out of the box with the Remote Controller.

David Martin. I don't know if it's the same situation as others but with me I believe I was close to steel/metal and ignored a compass error. But the drone just picked it's own direction of travel and the nose dipped down and it just took off super fast!!! By quickly switching to sport mode and back it seemed to regain control. This led me to believe I had the answer and continued to fly...well it happened again and went into a tree..(when I get it back I will just land and move to better locations lol)

It was the same situation in my case, except that I regained control without doing anything, so naturally I didn't trust it and immediately landed it. Once it was grounded (but not before) it gave me a compass and IMU error, so maybe if it had still been in the air, I would have lost control again (just like you).

It says 128 kph, that’s 80 mph. In what situation did it record this speed? Don’t you think it must be an error rather than the actual speed? I mean, the motors would have to spin a lot faster to achieve such a high speed, yet they seem to be at max rpm at around 50 kph.

LOL you guys must turn your drones on and then hang on to it while driving in your cars.. LOL..  128kph for a SPark LOL...  My top is 54.6kph...  DJI says top speed is around 55kph..

Greg, you’re right, I didn’t think about that, that must be how he got 128 kph, no doubt...
I guess if you get a good tailwind, it’s possible to fly faster than 60 for a short while, but anything more than that is either GPS error or cheating.

33.4mph is my best and that was with a heck of a tailwind.  The Spark's top speed isn't that great, but its acceleration is unparalleled.

Not the MA. This was before I owned it. I got this speed in Colorado in the Mountains. It was very windy that day and I had trouble flying it back to me. But it all worked out in the end.

Check out this video at about 0:18. It was THAT windy. hahaha!

55.44 kilometer/hour is my max speed.

It was the Spark, and it was in the Rocky Mountains near Vail on a very windy day. I wouldn't recomend it.

My top speed with the little guy was 37 MPH before I sold it.

Actually my Spark went 980kph...  in an Plane.. Does that count??..

The fastest I got my Spark was 35 mph and that was after flying it more than 2 million feet. Initially it went 33.4 mph right out of the box and then it trailed to around 29 mph.

I originally got 33.4 mph with my Spark right out of the box, and then some 2 million feet later my Spark actually reached 35 mph but it was down wind.

Just wondering if I still hold the record for the spark top speed 128kph
