Just saw this on our nightly News:

They did not mention what kind of drone. It must of been a hot one!

Firefighters have stopped forward progress on a wildfire that burned 335 acres southeast of Kendrick Park Tuesday afternoon. The wildfire was caused by a drone that caught fire upon landing near the intersections of forest roads 514 and 524. The fire started at about 12:35 p.m. and burned through grassland.

About 30 firefighters responded to the fire.

In Arizona it doesn't take much to get a fire started. An overheated battery could do it.

We had one of the heli guys at the flying field drop one of his big 6s5000 packs in the parking lot once.  punctured one of the cells which burned down and then started lighting off the remaining cells.  That was when we found out the backpack pump had been left empty.  oops.

Not Again. Drones getting bad press.

This is the latest bad press in New Zealand.

Drone around Auckland Airport caused a bunch of flights to be delayed, one even had to be diverted 500km to an Air Force base to refuel!  What a muppet that pilot must be!

Would it be safe to assume the NFZ features of DJI drones would mean it was another manufacturer?

Sorry to hear that. I would recommend users choose a proper place to fly their drone and safety comes first!
