Should you be able to take a still image whilst in video recording mode.  

I am sure this worked in the previous version.

Tried again today to take a still image whilst recording but it wouldnt work.  I had to stop the video recording first, which is not what I want then press the button for a still image, then start video recording again.

Cant find anything in the manual either, but I am convinced that I was able to take a still photo whilst video recording in previouos version without stopping the video.


Would appreciate some feedback from anyone, Ed or Autumn etc.

Hey there.  I was unable to do so on the previous firmware (.17 I believe) and the latest.  Perhaps it was before my time.    I received my Inspire in February and have never been able to take stills during video recording.

It's one or the other as far as I've heard.

It has never worked and I have had mine since the first batch.

It does not have this capability. But I would be glad if they add it.

That's a good point to bring up. I was convinced that you could via the button on the top of the controller but if Autumn says no, I wont waste my time checking.

This feature was definitely there on the first Version of the firmware. I know I use it all the time, and I have folders of videos and photos of the same thing, so I definitely did work. I wish they wood put it back.

Yes I am also convinced I used it on the first version firmware.

Once the video was recording in flight, you simply pressed the photo button, it took a photo and a circle appeared until it had recorded then it reverted back to the video recording.

We certainly need this option to be reinstated as it saves time trying to extract stills from the film in post edit.

After all the GoPro can do this and that is the main competitor to DJI.

No , that never worked together from the beginning it will stop video recording as soon as you click the shutter.
