I lost an Inspire 1 beacuse i never though of measuring the wind speed or direction, now that i received my new one i'm very worried of flying without knowing this first. So, which do you think its the best way to measure the wind speed and direction? A device or a web page? I fly most in beaches, sometimes there's no cell phone service, i wish to hear your comments...

I use a web site windyty.com it displays weather conditions in real time for any location on the planet. I can see the wind speed and direction of the wind directly over our farm in real time at ground level or 3km high, check it out it's very cool and accurate.

You can try also Wind Guru, they have an app aswell

You can buy a Velometer, that is an instrument -not to expensive- that you point into the wind and tells you the speed an direction of wind. People that fly gliders and handgliders use it all the time. Can find it in Amazon from 33 us$

To get wind speed on the ground I use a digital Anemometer. 20 quid from ebay.
