I would like to use the RTH for video shoots. The question I have is if I fly stright 50 yards then turn right 30 yards will RTH follow the rought in reverse Or will it come back in a stight line?

Not that I've tried it in real life, but in the sim it comes straight back to the home position.

It's always the shortest route back to the home point, hence a straight line once the RTH altitude has been reached. There are several videos on YouTube of successful RTH functions, if you desire to see them first-hand.

By the sounds of it you are going to need the ground station functionality when it appears.
Me too btw - I want to be able to pre-program serpentine flight profiles for photogrammetry.

It will come back in a straight line.

Unless there's a cross wind, then it comes back in a crescent arc, as it doesn't follow a 'desired track', it just heads towards the home point, so when blown off course by cross wind, it winds up doing a curved route.
