I thought I will check how the battery to PowerBank adapter work.. I could not get it to work at all tried different USB cables and different phones without any luck.. how do we go about getting a replacement?

you did turn the battery on, right?

I had exactly the same problem...

You have to turn the battery on using the same press, press and hold sequence.

That is the problem then, I have been pressing it once not twice lol will try it soon and see how we go

Fell into the same trap the first time I tried to use it Watching the lights light up sequentially and then turn off flicked a switch in my memory making me realise I needed to turn  on the battery, like it was in the MA. Doh!
