Recently ordered a Platty Pro from china for $AUD1240, it came straight to my door no fees, no import inspection and delivery in the price in ten days.

I could not find the RE Goggles and Ocuysnc Air unit package in china so ordered it freight included for $USD890 from Multicopter Wharehouse in Cal who are great.

The next thing is I get an Email from Oz Customs and The Home Office and Border Force, all Three would you believe?

I was requested to fill out exhaustive paperwork to prove that my item was not eligible for IMPORT DUTY. I was told I could pay a customs Agent $90 or do the paperwork myself, I did it myself.

To determine this I had to study every one of 45 Articles and 98 Chapters of the Definitions. to show it was an "LCD SCREEN NOT CAPABLE OF RECEIVING TELEVISION OR RECORDING"

I was told that I did not have to pay Imort Duty, victory! No.

I was then told that the item attracted $AUD107 Goods and Services Tax and I also had to pay a $AUD90 "Processing Fee" even though I had done all the work myself!

For this I had suffered them holding on to my package for a full Two weeks, they are Public Servants after all.

The Lesson. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THE USA BECAUSE YOU CANNOT BE SURE THE SAME THING WONT HAPPEN TO YOU.

Even now on Amazon you can buy a Pro for $USD800 but there is a special Extra $USD200 Tax if you are an Australian customer and you may be liable for further charges when Oz customs get hold of it.
