just curious as to why turn the phone/tablets wifi off ?

My best with a new bog standard P3S is 1275M, out in the country, no windsurfer etc, and CE mode.
Still had signal, but video had gone.
Looking at getting an argTEK to stengthen video, the distance is enough fo rme but like to be able to see what's going on.

longest i got was about 2.5 miles, and the signal was interrupted by a large boat passing between me and the phantom, so it flew back. by the time i reconnected the battery was too low to make it further than i had previously been. it it weren't for interference i probably could've gotten at least 3 miles.

4.2km totally stock P3Advance here in the UK!!! with a total flight over 8.7km and still plenty of battery left when we got back to!

I flew 5.5KM distance from home a couple of days ago. Stock P3A (no windsurfers or mods). Could have flown further if I hadn't stuffed around at the start of the flight. Healthydrones link below.

14,161 feet out.  Most distance traveled in single flight is 45,505

I travelled over 6,ooo feet with my P3 Pro before the signal started to weaken. probably could have gone further but didn't want to push my luck.

I think the app is horrible, It probably hurts the range.

Helipal cant be trusted at all with their video claims. They claim the P2 Vision+ V3 can load 800g more which is not true.

But i found an interesting video from a P3 in germany in CE mode reaching over 3km ?

Nice video but the phantoms landing was a bit hard.

P3 Pro - First Flight Saturday, couldn't get it past 1500ft (450m) without losing video. Pretty sure it was the Go app though so going to try again with Litchi this weekend.

I'm up to over 12,700 feet so far. Battery power made me turn back.

Stupid thread, DO NOT push the range/altitude limit of your drone, you WILL lose it.

How so?  The drone has an RTH mode so if you lose signal it will return.

Range is really determined by power consumption and whether or not you are on a return or a one way journey.  I regularly fly 10000 - 15000 feet distance and I have never lost my P3S.  I did once lose connection as my app crashed so I turned off my RC as well.  My drone RTH'd to home point as it always has.

i too would like to know how to increase range. I have flown 3 or 4 times never being able to surpass 1800 feet out.. much less than advertised. Granted, each flight was at night in a populated area.

My friend who also has one, hit 7500 ft this morning.  Still had a good signal, but it RTH because of battery.

i would ask this "friend" for a video of this flight

No assumptions needed. People can always show flight logs or airdata. Or a youtube clip.

I've gotten to just under 5km. I don't use anything extra and only have the go app.
What I do have is wide open spaces in outback Australia so I assume there is little interference that restricts others.

No mods apart from a pair of strobons, no loss of signal, brief loss of video, came home at 60% battery

Phantom 3 Advanced unmodified .... 3.776 km and I returned it manually because I feared to lose it.

Distance 4.1 miles=6.5km = 6598m = 21648ft
at an altitude of 200 ft = 60m

Lost video feed so I turned around, still had control of it tho.

No mods too

Good thing I had video issues because i landed with 8% battery life.

A friend of mine only got a mile out.
