I know there is a manual for the Phantoms (Pro and Advanced), but is there a separate manual for the Pilot App detailing more information than what the drone manuals documents?

Not that I've seen. There is an in app way to go through the app tutorial again, but I still think a full manual would be better than the basic in-app tutorial.

That's exactly right!  I know I could probably work out how to use the app myself (once the P3 arrives!) but thought if I had a manual to go through I could possibly learn new things now rather than later.

This video is technically for the Inspire 1 but it's a really nice tutorial of the Pilot app. Should give you a good overview.
