Update - another chase video below and at post # 41

Hi all, another fun afternoon chasing my mates mavic - one close call.

Very nice.  Saw the close call in the video.  Too close for comfort.

we realised our error was that we had stopped calling out our altitudes to each other. Seems the most important rule when flying with others

Definitely - don't stand too close to cause interference between the RC but close enough to hear each other - I tend to set altitude limitations when flying with a mate (I'll go up to 200' and he'll go 220-400' etc)

Nice video and good flying skills, you kinda get carried away when flying with others and calling out heights is vital to prevent opps moments.

Tried to follow  my friends Mavic once in Active Track but it took off to fast and my Mavic lost it.

We do try to stay about 50' in altitude apart when we fly. Best to be always safe then sorry.

It helps to maintain visibility if the chasing person is lower.

Never had opportunity to play Drone Wars (cat & mouse).
With that said; would it help to have bright flashing L.E.D.s on drones?

yes - spotting the front drone against dark backgrounds can be tricky.
it is easier to see when the drones are closer to each other - of course with that the risk goes up some.
Lights would work great for night time chases - hmm thats a good idea.

Wow that shows the Mavic Pro flying it must have been in Sport Mode, but boy was that a close call? Probably looks more closer than it actually was?

yeh things do generally look closer than they actually are - but that was actually really close :-)

oh i really like the goggles. i like it for my own enjoyment and flying experiance - i guess it depends some on your flying style but it is the item that helps me get up close to motor boats and chase mavic pro s in the air and generally for much better image and also if my phone disconnects the goggles dont - no underestimating the value of that alone.
Another thing that gives me a thrill is to put my goggles on other peoples head - mostly it is older folks and without exception they have been super thrilled.
Just yesterday and bunch of 3 oldies (one a retired pilot) were blown away by the goggles - they each got a turn. Later the same day a client of mine (whose husband is a retired pilot and she an ex hang glider) was thrilled to bits. I worked for them many times over the past years, always dealt with her husband and at best got a few hellos from her.
During and after the goggles flight she just would not stop talking like a giddy kid - she loved.
Also used it to tame a potentially hostile cop once - the goggles are great, i recommend them (highly)

Yeh - my mate has another mate who also has a mavic pro - traffic controller may soon be required.

And naturally, the ATC will ALSO have to have a drone!!!
