Has anybody ever had a "dead on arrival" experience with a Mavick air purchased online? I have purchased one in New Zealand and it will be brought to me by my wife who took delivery of it in Auckland. My question is... should I have her unbox it and at least run through basic diagnostics to ensure its all systems go before shipping of to South Africa or is the risk small enough to take the chance and wait till we get home to unbox? Opinions please?

I'm not sure how often it happens, I'm sure it is quite small, but it does happen.  Here are a couple of videos I made about the process I went through:

Hi Gerhard, I'd suggest unboxing first before shipping. Just make sure everything works well as designed. Please check whether the local experienced pilots can help.

I had a DOA P4P but DJI replaced it with a brand new one with no issues. Definitely get it properly checked before shipping but yeah, given the number of drones produced DOA’s are rare but clearly do happen.
