Sorry for stupid question - howto update to 2.4.8 iOS in  iPad 4 mini? I am a newebie - first time with Apple apps. In Update section I do not see an update for DJI GO 4 (currently I'm using 2.4.6)

2.4.8 increase the gain of the sensors very much. Gets almost impossible use the Mavic Air in small locations if sensor are enabled. Before 2.4.8 was possible engage active tracking like spotlight and use it indoors, now impossible. Now I have to bring home the drone flying sidelines, or manually turn off the sensors before landing, otherwise the sensor stops the drone no matter the speed. The increased sensor sensibility increase the power consummation shorting the fly time considerably.
Very unwanted "update". I would pay lots of money to be able downgrade! So sad....

Just go to App Store dji go4 and click update and your done, if you have updates set to automatic it will already be done.

just pull the screen down until you see the "refresh" wheel ... it will bring newer updates... otherwise it will eventually show up on its own.

Not correct, radical changes in the way sensor technologi is used. Much more restrictive and agressive approch. Almost impossible  to fly inforrs anymore with sensors ON.

Active track indoors not recommended, you can turn off sensors, I haven’t noticed any change in sensors.

There are two major DJI restrictions, users would love DJI to give pilots options to:
1. Manual exposure in Active tracking modes.
2. Enable Active tracking with Sensors turned OFF. Hold position could be active but not demand restrict to any altitude.
It's obvious that nr 2. demands much more pilot experience and the risk for collisions is much higher. Therefore this kind of flying should be entire on the pilot responsibility.

All intelligent modes require aircraft to be in P mode, so that’s not going to happen.

Active Tracking turns ON sensors, otherwise will remain OFF in 2.4.8.
2.4.6 didn't...
Yesterday had no issues with 2.4.6 and could make grate pictures, today impossible with 2.4.8...

Look if 4.2.8 doesn’t suit just revert to 4.2.6 then you have no problem, I’m not sure why sensors stop you from getting good shots, you need to be further than 1 metre from subject for correct focus.

The argument that intelligent modes demands the P-mode is correct but not logic. The pilot can "lock" exposure in P-mode, and that's a kind of "manual" exposure. The problem is that the pilot/photographer wants to control the shouter speed to get a good cinematic motion feeling. Why would that affect the Intelligent modes is a mystery to me. The tracking system has issues no matter P-mode. When orbiting around a person, if the camera gets hard back-light, the tracking is lost.

Your camera is focused from 1 metre to infinity, you cannot change that with shutter speed. Maybe you might let us know what you are trying to film or photograph and we might be able to help.

Sorry I don't understand the "Focus" reply...
I film among other things, people. I use the drone in some cases instead of steadycam, gimbal or crane. For some shots I need to be close to subject, just a few meters apart. The old firmware allowed that, the new one doesn't. That's a HUGE differences and should be mentioned in the info. I managed to downgrade to factory firmware and now I can do again the movement I need. I'm just worried that the IOS app is newer and the RC might be too on newer firmware. How can I downgrade DJI Go 4 2.4.8 to 2.4.6 and RC (01.00.0100) to present Aircraft v 01.00.0200

If your recording using drone as a handheld, there are no sensors on , if your flying within 5/3 metres sensors are on but you would expect this , safety to people is paramount, there is no change in sensor sensitivity since new firmware it is exactly the same as it was, if you want to record someone up this close you can use sport mode, but the risk of taking someone’s eye out is huge and negligent on your part,

But once again having tested this afternoon your claim I can tell you it’s wrong.

I didn't have an opportunity yet to fly with the new firmware and the new Android GO 4 is not yet released (for CS it probably will take a bit longer anyway). Nevertheless if there had been changes in the sensor settings, I believe this would have been mentioned in the release notes for the new firmware. I also do not expect a reduction of flighttime, but we'll see. On the other side I can see that many important issues have been addressed in this update and would strongly recommend everyone to install it.

Yeah I would recommend updating, I did and tested everything working fine no problems to report, I did notice one thing, I’m not sure if it was there before but in advance gain settings I now see a gain added for throttle up and down, it could have been there before but not noticed it, but I think it might have something to do with descent speed while flying forward. I know it’s not really important just it’s the first time I’ve seen it.

But all firmware and 5 batteries charged took about 30 minutes and everything working fine so far.
Hopefully Crystalsky is updated soon because it was working great for me.

I too believe that this new setting is related to the descent speed issue. Can you please confirm that the update only concerns MA and the batteries but not the RC? I just checked and don't get anything for the RC.

I don't understand why many jump on updating to a new release whether it is firmware or app as soon as it becomes available. I just don't see the reason. Why not wait and see if there are any issues before updating.
