After I updated to the latest firmware
I noticed the time of flight with a full charged battery shows 16 minuets!!!
It was 21 ?

Popcorn is right.... this could get interesting.  I just powered up the Air but it didn't show time just -/- so will test next flight. If it is reduced it won't be good news as real flight time will be massively impacted.

Was going to say was actual flight time tested or just what the indicator tells because that could be off a bit now instead of actually impacting flight time.

I flew after update today I flew for 16 minutes almost half in sports mode landed with 19%, so at least one of my batteries is fine.

I would be surprised if they downgraded the battery or upgraded the power consumption.

Ill do some testing tomorrow as long as the wind stays down. Off to the beach

I'm interested in learning from DJI what the official response is.

Hopefully we'll get one.

And forget sports mode.  Ratings are for ideal conditions, lack of wind, steady flight in normal mode.

That countdown timer is until battery reaches low battery, which looks like its set at 25%...

Can anyone provide evidence that before the update it showed 21% when starting with 100% battery? I am really curious because I can't remember to have ever seen 21% on mine. Maybe someone who hasn't updated the firmware yet can provide a screenshot. According to Airdata my longest flight so far before the update was 15m 45s with 99% battery at take off and 20% at landing. This perfectly matches with hallmark007's results of today and reported further above.

The flight time is predicted based on previous flights and power consumption. The firmware update probably reseted it and starts with a more realistic flight time
This won't affect the actual battery capacity

I don’t remember checking before, but today started on 100% battery, that clock started on 16 minutes, it ran down to 0.00 minutes and battery left was 20% my low battery threshold, so your right it never shows 21 minutes. I’m under the impression from test that it’s the countdown to low battery.

This is what I think too, thank you for confirming. But it is the same with each firmware update for whatever device (was the same with Spark). Once there is one, perceived issues emerge that never have been an issue before. But I was very happy to read at least two feedbacks today that the firmware update has resolved objective issues that had been previously and credibly reported. It's the usual thing, when there are issues people rightfully report and ask questions, but when problems are solved, many forget to report that as well and simply enjoy the experience. Very understandable, but feedback of both kinds helps to advance the satisfaction of all users (and even the manufacturer).

Same here... starts as --/-- and when reached around 87% (according to flight records) is gives around 13min. both my (recently upgraded) batteries have the same...

Ok, I believe to get this issue solved somebody has to fly with a 100% battery until critical battery level is reached and take the time. This should be done without significant wind and without sport mode.
And again my question above, can anyone present evidence that with 100% battery GO 4 has displayed 21 minutes flighttime before the update? There must be users around here who have not yet done the firmware update. They could post a screenshot.

First time i checked.... but NONE of the flight records with a full battery is displaying remaining flight time. my "best" is 89% with 14min.
looks like the first 10% is always --/--

I'm still happy, but this is strange...

I think both Hallmark and you are right. I've flown this afternoon with the old firmware for both craft and battery. I'll look it up after I layed my little girl to bed.

If battery time is not actually less, I think I like the indicator counting down to the low battery alarm better.

I more or less calculated earlier this month that every flightminute would cost about 5%, I calculated because I wanted to know what distance compared to battery percentage could be considered safe. The 5% has pretty much been consistent for my flights.

This was today, with the 'old' firmware, just took off, 98% battery and 16:00.



Not really a flight plan   Moving around a lot, some hovering, a couple of quickshots and a few minutes of flying like I stole it. 15:57 with 23% and 03:09 on the clock left.

I think I'll just update?

Here we go, you provided the convincing evidence that nothing is different after the update. This is the realistic flighttime under normal conditions (plus safe landing contingency) and nothing has changed at all with the update. Thank you very much!

Thanks, I think I'll hold off updating till I intend to fly again. Not much time to do so at the moment, it also gives time to read up on experiences of others. Deminishing flight times have been debunked, so nothing stopping me there from updating.

Yes, confirmed same for me after testing, battery time is not reduced.  Happy days.

Hello, after a few flights from the last update I notice and I'm sure the flight time is reduced by 2-3 minutes.
More than 15 minutes I can not do,before I did 18-19 in the worse weather.

First firmware: flightime estimate 21 mins
Lastest firmware: only 16,5 mins
