Does anyone have issues with the mavic air props when folded? When the airs arms are folded the props are scrapping on the top of the air causing deep gouges because the props dont fold. I have checked the props carefully and its defintley grazing the surface on both the front arm props. Refer attached photos
Yes they do and that's why DJI put those tapes to protect the body of the drone. I decided not to peel them away initially but eventually removed them and putting a soft cloth (that I use to clean the ND filters) between props and body when storing the AC.
This really needs to be addressed by dji as a design flaw and defect. Those tapes are for transport only just like all the other tapes that comes with the air that you have to remove. If it was there for that reason then it should have been clearly labelled.
That is one downside of non foldable props.
BUT, on the positive side, they do provide more lift and make for longer flight time.
Even so, it should not do this I think.
Best to have something in between during storage.
This did not happen while flying the drone., The blades scrape on the housing of the drone when they are folded in. I doubt being balanced has anything to do with it since the scratches on my drone were there before I flew it, and not present when it was brand new. It might be possible that the blade has some extra material on the edge from the molding process.
