The sky half of the image was shot with a fisheye lens on a DSLR which gives a nice appealing blue rather like a polariser.

Heh - I wondered about one of those back packs too. They looked quite heavy. Now, if they did a Jetpac and backpack combo....

I think they are heavy indeed.
The main selling point is that you don't have to do the stitching yourself
