Any ideas regarding the best nd filters for mavic pro that does not have issues with startup of the gimbal. Ive heard that some brands block the gimbal calibration sequence and hence an gimbal overload error?

Polar Pro by far.  They are the equivalent of filters that DJI is of drones.

There are lots of great Mavic Pro filter brands. Here are some of the most commonly used brands I see people using:

DJI, Freewell, PolarPro, PGYTECH, SANDMARC, Taco-RC, SKYREAT (in no particular order)

I think you'll be happy if you choose one of those brands.

I will add that I use Freewell and am very happy with them.  No Gimbal issues whatsoever.

I'm hesitant to put anything on that delicate gimbal but if you insist then I hear the Polar Pro ND Filters work well.

Interesting!! why do you think they are the best by far?

I own the PGYTECH filters (with polarisation). I think they are really great!

I use these and they don't interfere with the gimbal at all. You also get a set of 3 polarized and 3 non polarized in the same set for a good price. Can't vouch for the optical quality versus something as expensive as the Polar Pro, but I don't see any issues with them.

I have a set of Freewell ND Filters. They seem to be good quality and fit really tight. No Gimbal problems.

The new DJI ND filters work great for me.
