well my i1 in service for faulty gimbal so when comes back at least wont have deal with this issue because they will upgrade firmware for me.

Haha - ditto for me, too (although mine is in for faulty landing gear). The upside is everyone else is debugging the update for us!

I could have also thought of a few others but had to tread carefully. I'm hoping that it will demonstrate a  proportion of problems. It very hard to track via the forum just how many problems we are actually getting on the updates. Hopefully we can then concentrate on what is the main cause.  

One of the issues seems to be a deviation necessary or otherwise from the install instructions. That flow chart that dundee made for a previous version is certainly the way to go. I wish DJI would follow the example an issue one as opposed to the letter with each update.

I voted earlier that I had no problems updating which I didn't but now other problems have reared their ugly heads.

I would be more than happy to vote but my I1 is back at DJI for repair. For a broken main carbon motor arm.

Sorry to hear that Keithh. Whats cropped up? I'm finding it difficult to follow the forum threads?

Only thing I experienced is on the RC it would not begin the update if the USB was in the unit before it was powered up... Just had the solid red light....
So I unplugged the USB and powered down the unit.... Restarted it with no USB in.... Then I inserted the USB and the update started.... This was a first for me... All other upgrades have been flawless...
I use the same card, and same USB everytime... And format before the new firmware goes onto the card....

this is what i have found so far...

   I have updated to the latest firmware and now with the Inspire setting in my computer room, I have the moire pattern now and the video will go dark every few seconds. I have had the Inspire setting in the room many times before this upgrade and never had this problem. When I upgraded yesterday I started looking at settings and finally saw the 'reset camera settings' and that seemed to fix both problems but when a started it back up today to check the RTH height (which had reset to 0) the video problem came back. Tried the 'reset camera settings' again to no avail.  Keith

Update:   I have found that the moire and video problems are not showing up during recording. On the video that I recorded, at the very end i could see the screen of the iPad go dark but didn't in the recording. Just FYI.

Ok, after some more recording and observations,  confusing results. During recording there is no moire but the video goes dark numerios times  and I got that on the recording MOST of the time. Also at varying times a message pops up that says "weak video transmission signal" even though the Inspire is setting 5 ft. from the transmitter/receiver .  As a comment to other post, I have cycled many times since the update. When I first updated the RTH and C1 and C2 were 0 and cleared in that order. I reset those and recycled as I said, and that all stayed correct. SO FAR!

Can I ask how long it took for the FW on the Inspire. I have tried three times now. On the fourth time.

How long has it taken anyone for the FW upgrade on the airframe. I have been at this for several hours with no success. I am on the fourth try.

Curious about the survey result.

I have tried everything listed in all the forums, 18 consecutive failed attempts on the craft.  Tried formatting card, downloading directly to the card and unzipping there, turned off antivirus.  

Last attempt I lit 6 candles, spun around on my left foot every 30 seconds, did a Native American chant and lit sage to cleanse the room...still failed.

Can you attempt to assist me on this or is calling support a better option?  I use this Inspire for business purposes and really need it flying again asap!

The Aircraft took 16 minutes....

Each Battery took 4 minutes

The controller took 6 minutes

Something is wrong on my end, the camera/Inspire itself is not updating. The RC did just in the time you mentioned, very short. So I have the proper setup on the SD card, but something is definitely wrong for the airframe. The camera is warm too.

Scott,
I see your problem. You missed two critical items. 1. You missed tapping your right foot first then your left foot every 30 seconds, repeat,  right foot, left foot.  2. It wasn't supposed to be a room cleanse but a colon cleanse instead.  

That should fix your  Inspire and you as well.

Thanks anyway Jeremy. I am trying again. It is doing the DDDD but has never got to the D...DD . The gimbal did its reset spin at the beginning, the lights flashed, a red taillight went on for a second. All seemed to be normal stuff for an update. But it doesn't successfully do it, even after more than 40 minutes.

First was the RC controller FW using a thumb drive. 6 minutes or less, 1st time.
Second  was the inspire 1 FW using the micro SD.  8 minutes, 1st time.
Third I did my two spare TB 48 battery's at 4 minutes or less each. Both 1st time.
Flight tested today and everything went smoothly , no surprises  or bad experience ,  tested the following....instant GPS lock, auto take off with intuitive landing gear on,  distance limit,  c1 yaw and pitch then c2 return camera nose forward , walk away from takeoff home point and reset home point to RC then use the pilot apps RTH, cancel RTH before it lands retaking control , i fly out again and reset home point to birds position and again hit RTH and the  bird lands where it was hovering, I then do a manual take off at distance from me which resets the home point then walk back to my original starting point of the test and then reset the home point to the RC one last time then hit RTH with the RC controllers RTH button .. as she returns lowering the gear automatically and begins to land I press RTH and the bird cancels RTH ... I flew it in GPS and ATTI , in circles figure eights up down sideways without a hitch. Then brought her in manual sticks testing the landing gear switch too.  All good so far.

I found a problem in the wiring harness above the gimbal. One wire is not in a slot. I don't know if it isn't supposed to be, for other than standard wiring practice would have it snipped or taped/melted sealed, so what I think I have here is a loose wire. It isn't attached to the ribbon of wires for about half an inch. It may be the result of my last crash and the gimbal did come out of one rubber mount but the length of the wire being parted from the other wires is puzzling. So  everything looks okay otherwise. I stuck it back in and will reattach the mounts, somehow. How is that done. Must be something written somewhere since they send extras.

I get the same message everyone else gets...unsynchronized..failed.  I'm not a computer genius like richj53 (he is a great helper in these forums though) if you want detailed info I need to know how to extract the info you need to diagnose it.

Set the hidden folder visible, go to MISC\LOG\WM610_FW_LOG_AB.txt.

I believe if we all share, it will be a better place.

Autumn has the link to find the file and like she says be sure to go into your PC options and change make  hidden folders visible.  Please be sure and post your update for us to see.

Just checked my file and have 'Packet upgrade cancelled at version checking messages. Can anyone confirm this upgrade was ok and those messages are just the messages received as after the upgrading I switched on just to get it back into travel mode....Thanks

This is your problem:
You have turned on a transmitter with an Iphone or Ipad or Android so you see the errors the plane creates!. TURN all OFF redo your SD-card plug that in the camera-head turn on the craft and let GO!
Everything else is OFF! You'll get your sign if its ready. then turn craft off, transmitter on, craft on start motors WITHOUT PROPELLORS, and congrats

Sorry for the delay. My update took about the same time as Jeremyconks did.
It took about 5 mins before the beeping started. counting the 5 mins to start the AC took about 20 mins total. battery took about 5 mins and controller about 7 mins.

This is the reader I use with no problems.

Do you know can I update remote controller by simple USB Pendrive FAT32 ?Anybody knows?
