That would be a bit of a conundrum if you're not Part 107. Winning a prize would for sure be financial gain.

if its anything like over in the UK then perhaps its not classed as financial gain,  PfCO can work commercially here in the UK. Hobbyist cannot, but what hobbyists are able to do is setup a website for all their images and if someone wants to buy one then that is possible and not illegal. Add your hobbyist image/video in to a competition is not classed as commercial work so perhaps its allowed, only one way to find out, ring up the FAA?

The laws here in oz are a bit weird as well you can take a picture with the intent to sell (you need a casa licence) or you can take the same photo and someone offers to buy (no licence required).
So it a bit vague if you enter a contest with a cash prize then you are intending on using your drone for finacial gain thus a casa licence would be required for anyone in australia to enter.
Just thought i would throw that in for people to concider before entering such a contest.
