Phone ( android ) has updated by its self and now i have ver 3.1.30 of DJI GO 3 and it has changed the map from here maps to mapbox now the map does not load its just a black box now.

just switch to map view and scroll around , it will cache the maps

Please cache the map when your mobile device has internet access. I would recommend you do it before flight. Thanks for your support.

Mapbox seems to be just as crappy as Here maps ,  IF YOUR SCREEN IS BLACK IT'S ZOOMED IN TOO MUCH  , pinch and zoom out ,  also doesn't like to switch between satellite /hybrid/standard views  , try again DJI !!!!!!!!

Zoom does nothing, you can not set your hope point

Cache does not work correctly ..... I have spent wasted time this evening cacheing maps and still end up with black box .......... it only shows the maps when WiFi is on ... once you shut that down - nothing !

I repeated cache of maps more than 3 - 4x and still indoors was errors. But outside - as you see in the video, maps appeared and worked. Once back indoors - maps continued to work. I have no explanation for this, especially since I have never had trouble cache maps in Google / Here in previous GO versions.

Took the app back to 3.1.28 here maps is back not mapbox and homepoint there all back to normal.
Uninstall 3.1.30 and replace it with the .28

Today all fine with 3.1.30 ...... maps, Home Point on Take-off ....

For me - seems yesterday was a one-off ... and I don't see need to revert GO version now.

Geees I left the P3S site for 8 months or so to get my Mavic tuned in and now this NO MAPS !   gonna keep trying but its great to see that Cpt Solentlife is still here keeping up to speed !!!  Hi Bud ! Haha
Now back to getting my Maps up ( Hey Soentlife get a Mavic so you can give us a hand with it pls lol )

it could be GPS issue, before you cach maps it need to set the location and when you are indors it probably impossible.
I didn't notice this kind of problem.

There is probably more than one way to do it, especially if you have a phone. But what I do is power up the drone outside until it gets a GPS lock. Then I switch my wifi only tablet to connect to the Internet. This then allows the maps to load  for the area the drone is in. You can then scroll around everywhere you may be flying and it will cache them. I think there is a setting too (on/off), but it should be on by default. The next time you go out to the same location, the maps will be available,
