I did a little night flying last night and tried a few photos.
I thought this one came out somewhat good.

I think you did very well with that shot.
Practice makes perfect and also doesnt hurt to experiment with different settings and take notes on what works and what doesnt.
Drone photography is very much like creating a piece of artwork, its your expression that counts not what others think of it.
Do what you like not what others think you should be doing.
I personally think the shot looks great but others would say you need to change shutter speeds and aperture settings to bring out the darker areas a bit more.

Yep, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Someone could go into an art museum and be absolutely floored by a piece of art. Then, then next person could come along and absolutely hate it.

Many people have come on this forum asking what settings i should use?
This kinda makes me laugh because believe it or not different parts of the planet have different lighting conditions.
Either due to polution time of day time of year what season you are currently in there are so many variables when taking photos and video.
What works in california may not work in texas ok so what you need to do is work it out for yourself.
Dont be afraid to experiment if it doesnt work for you what have you lost?..........nothing, so try something different untill you find the effect that you like.
Dont get caught up in what others believe is good or bad.

Does look pretty good! Like others mentioned just experiment with settings, take notes of what works and what doesn't. The amazing thing about drone photography is the infinite creative possibilities it opens up, it leaves alot of room for both beginner and advanced photographers to create masterpieces.
