Ok, so I just recently purchased my first product from DJI. the product I got was the DJI Phantom 3 standard. it takes some great video, but I think I'm having some problems with getting the full 12 megapixels on the machine. if anyone can help me it would be great.
Hey guys I think I see what i was doing wrong. I had my ratio 16:9 since I thought that they were bigger. And also put mine on RAW I’m not sure if I should jpg or stick to RAW

You'll find lots of people suggesting you should shoot raw.
But for most users, most of the time, jpg will be fine and produce excellent results.

Yes, 16:9 is widescreen, that does crop the pic... ;-)

Hi there, please switch to JPEG and change the ratio as 4:3 to see whether you can get the full 12 Megapixel on the SD card.
Hi, Susan, I took your advice and many other peoples and took a shot. the shot told me it came out as the full 12 mp and also 4000x3000
Usually, you'll only get 12 MB files when you shoot in RAW. Smaller file sizes does not mean you didn't get the full 12 mp resolution. JPEG is somewhat compressed.
