[size=14.6667px]So the other day I was flying with my Mavic Pro over the river near my hometown.
[size=14.6667px]Just cruisin', as the weather was quite ok for the first time in days, but nothing special to film.

[size=14.6667px]I spotted a bird in the distance, and tried to get a bit closer, but I could have never dreamt of how the footage would turn out!

[size=14.6667px]I hope you'll enjoy the film just as much as I did! Definitely made my day!

Absolutely great shot, but you are very lucky, to me it looked like a Red Tailed Hawk, that ain't no Buzzard. If it was they are a very aggressive, could have taken your drone down. That being said, again a Great Shot!

Great work on the presentation of this video.  Well done.  As a horse owner who uses your word A LOT - and I mean A LOT  ! ! ! - , I can tell you that you spelled that word incorrectly.  It's WHOA.    In fact, I'll be out today, reminding him that he has an owner and reminding him to STOP when I say that not so secret word.

I think it is time for DJI to put a warning sticker on . Birds of Prey could be Harmful to your Drone.

The video was fantastic.
I have a large Red Tail that sits in the tree behind the house. I know he is just waiting for me to fly so he can play with the MP.

Getting images with bird's wings at full spread and banking right near drone.  Awesome.  Also great cause bird let you keep your drone.

Ha QuadKid,
Thanks for the compliment!
It is a "buteo buteo", known in the Netherlands as a Buizerd, in English I think it is called a "common buzzard". I understood that in certain regions, Turkey Vultures are called Buzzards as well.

Haha thanks mate!
You are so lucky to have these majestic birds so close to you!
Despite their power, they can be quite shy in the wild. I'm always disappointed when I try to get close to them and they lazily fly away before you can take a good picture of them. This time with the drone, I think it never saw me until the last part of the curve...  I simply surprised it!

RIGHT?! LOL. I hate pigeons.
One time I was photographing in a large city for a investment company and had over 200 of the things flashing past, regrouping and dive bombing again!

You are correct - it was a completely awesome encounter and one of the best close-up photos I've seen on here!
(And you're also correct-  it WAS a buzzard (buteo buteo) in winter plumage. We don't get many Red-Tail Hawks on this side of the pond!

Oh, wow! This is something else though, wouldn't know what to do in such a case! Maybe try to fly with them as much as possible, as this gives them the opportunity to evade you, and slowly decrease altitude?

Haha pigeons are like that... they flock and then do circles to orient themselves... if you meet them at that point, you can bet your @ss you'll meet them again in a few moments!
