I have the application dji go4 (4.1.15) for Spark and when i connect my wifi phone changes only the frequency from 5.8 ghz to 2.4 and inverted. With otg it remains constant at 2.4ghz. Is this normal? Is there a risk of going something wrong and losing my Spark? On my flight when I pressed the RTH showed me a 1) rth failed message and after a few seconds of operation timeout. Can automatic roll frequency play or should I upgrade to dji go4 4.2.8? Let me say that my spark is set to fcc mode.

Some flights (4.1.15/OTG), I have a lot of changings from 2.4 to 5.8 and back.
Which I think is only possible b/c of the OTG cable: ONLY ONE wifi need to change the channels/band

Are you trying to fly the spark without RC?
Or RC but wifi only?
And you sure, it is changing the channels, in wifi mode only?
Or is 5.8 showing up, b/c 2.4 is already disconnected?

Hi!!! Spark I only throw it with my own RC. The change to wifi connection is made. But it can also be with the cable and I just have not looked at it yet

I am not really sure that your phone is switching from 2.4 to 5.8
Is your phone also in FCC mode? Or only the Spark?
If the Phone is in CE, it ('s android) may not see the 5.8
The Spark is trying, the App is showing, but the Phone not responding to it.
Can you do screenshots?  I have set my note4 'back' button, long press, to screenshot

It can be something else, honestly, I do not do/know much with/about wifi to RC. Only in case I have to.
Like today, my fresh from repair delivered Spark don't wanted to get back to "other country settings", stucked in 2.4 between RC and AC.
So I had to use the 4.2.8 in wifi and reset spark, RC, wifis.

But it is well documented that 2.4 flying in Europe, with an Android, 5.8 from Phone to RC, is more a rare possibility with only some phones.

My guess: You need to reset the Spark's wifi, if you wanna fly without cabel.
So that 5.8 can be used from RC to AC. Or you have to get your phone 'to the US'.
But 5.8 is anyway the stronger signal in FCC

How can I restore my wifi spark? The fcc mode works best in 5.8 ghz;

I hope I did understand right:
Reset the Spark: Spark on, 9 sec powerbutton pushing
Reset the RC: RC on, 9 sec powerbutton pushing
Both wifi setting back to default
Pair RC and AC again
Hope that AC decided to use 5.8, connect to RC with phone via wifi
Maybe you have to reset and renew the wifi name/password IN the DJI Go4 app (in case you have changed it), too.

Should not affect the FCC/CE settings, the 'change' message should still show up afterwards.

Btw: Even if this message comes up without "cancel", ignoring/cancel seems to be possible with the 'back' button.

Thank you for the information. I do not know if it is the same thing I did just now. I deleted the dji go4 4.1.15 and installed the newer version 4.2.8 and I see that it is stable at 5.8ghz now. It means that the otg cable does not work now with the new version of dji go. where only wifi connection now. Do you believe the phone will work better now with the RC at 5.8ghz?

If the App showes you 5.8, your RC is connected to the Spark in 5.8
Which gets you a wifi connection phone to RC in 2.4
Use a wifi app (wifi analyser) to check the RC wifi, in which band it sees it

So check it out in the air.
And next time, if you can't see the wifi ( App shows 2.4 to AC or changed permanentely between 5.8/2.4 ;-), check with the app again.
I think that the app will see 5.8 Channels, too.
If I remember that right, the app don't even need the wifi 'on' for that, so it probably is more independent as android.
For CE rules and scanning not usable frequencies, I mean ;-)

checked it. shows 5.8 ghz constant with wifi connection and dji go 4.2.8. With dji 4.1.15 it shows 2.4 ghz /5.8 ghz. I do not know any more version is more right to let go. 4.1.15 or 4.2.8.

If you don't wanna use OTG, 4.2.8 is the newest, I would go with that one
If you still want otg, 4.15 or 4.14 are the last you can use and I would try some more versions of those.
Probably the 10.xxxx and the 30.xxxx of the 4.15 first.

Was switching from cable to wifi the one thing you changed?

Are you using an iOS device? If you're using Android, you might want to upgrade to the latest firmware and avoid the OTG cable altogether.

Are you sure that you are actually connected to the RC via an OTG cable ? I remember a glitch in 4.1.15 that caused continuous switching between the 2,4 and 5,8 GHz via the WiFi only connection (it was happening on phones unable to use the 5,8GHz band, don't know if it affected other phones as well ..). This should not be happening with an OTG cable. If you still have the 4.1.15, try to turn off the WiFi to verify that you are connected to the RC via the cable.

Hi! I have version 4.1.15 and indeed with WiFi and only this makes this change from 2.5 / 5.8 during a flight. By otg does not. It is stable at 2.4

I
. Is there a problem with this change in WiFi with the risk of falling or losing Spark? As I write in the first post in rth I pulled 2 messages when I pressed the button to return. I do not know if this change of ghz is blame.

Frankly I didn't stick on 4.1.15 for long. Since my phone does not support 5,8GHz, when I manually set the frequency between the Spark and the drone to 2,4GHz I had to use the OTG cable everytime because the Spark remembered it. The only way to switch it back to automatic mode was to reset Sparks WiFi. That's why I am still on 4.1.14. It does not continuously try to switch from 2,4 to 5,8 GHz and everything works fine including the RTH. Maybe you should try it too.

My own phone (xiaomi redmi note 4 is a dual band, so maybe it's automatically changed to 2.4 / 5.8.) I have seen some videos on YouTube and it changes so I have the auto WiFi setting and probably looking to find the best one 2.4 / 5.8 What do you suggest? 4.2.8 or 4.1.15 In dji Greece I was told not to upgrade to the dji go4 software and to leave the old 4.1.15 which is the best.

If your phone is ment for the Europe it probably cannot use the 5,8GHz. Even dualband phones end at 5,7GHz. Welcome in the EU and enjoy CE regulations ;). What I suggest is that you try DJI GO 4 4.1.14. You won't loose any function and it should solve that problem with 2,4/5,8GHz switching.

Yes, your (our) phone can do both.
But is android let it do that, in CE-Areas?

As I wrote before: If you are not wanna use a cable, stick with the 4.2.8
If you wanna use OTG, check with new installating of 4.1.15 or 4.1.14

And don't set your connection to 2.4 as default, in case you fly your Spark FCC, anyway.
The default 2.4 is useful for 'CE-Sparks'. Not really for FCC and flown with cable.
Because your drone can then switch the wifi to RC if needed.
It can't, if the preset is 2.4, only

You're right. my phone is a dual band but when I measure it with my wifi analyzer it shows a constant 2.4 ghz. but it will be gone for the change of 2.4 / 5.8 ghz and vice versa. It's not ce mode. I have changed it to fcc mode and it has a better range now.

So the correct is fcc mode and 5.8 ghz with 4.2.8 app for cableless connection and 5.8ghz old in fcc mode 4.1.15 app to connect with otg. If it drops in the auto with dji go 4.1.15 and changes 2.4 / 5.8 ghz what problem can there be?

You can't say 5.8 or 2.4 is correct.
In CE 5.8 is very powerless, 2.4 absolutely the stronger connection
In FCC, however, 5.8 has even the stronger output.

The question with the 4.2.8 and NO cable is: Does your phone support 5.8 to the RC? In Greece!
Which is afaik an android problem.
As long the phones is using a european SIM in europe, I don't see much change, to switch it permanently to FCC
You Spark may be in FCC mode, but without a phone in FCC, it can't connect the AC in 2.4, because the RC can't connect to the phone in 5.8

But on the other hand, I have little experience with modifying the location of the phone.
So in case you saying, your combo is in FCC, INCLUDE the phone, it should be able to switch.

Try it, change in the settings of the 4.2.8 the chanels and check RC-wifi with the wifi analyzer.

With 4.2.8 it is stable at 5.8ghz. but my analyzer shows a constant 2.4ghz. In 4.1.15 without otg old shows 2.4 the wifi analyzer and in the application it makes a change from 2.4 / 5.8. Only with otg is a constant 2.4 ghz. In dji greece I was told that this is the right one after being in the auto position and that is looking to find the best signal. I still did not do any upgrades and stay 4.1.15 which is the best application for the spark. But I do not know if I have to believe them because they seemed a little ill-suited to the subject

Your analyzer shows you the RC to Phone wifi, 2.4
Your phone does not see the Spark wifi, if the Spark is connected to a RC!
The App shows the RC to AC connection, 5.8
Which works out, you have only this 2 Wifis to work with. If you use the phone in wifi, the RC HAS to use both wifis, one for the AC (5.8 right now), one for the phone (2.4)

If you would use a OTG cable, you won't see any Spark/RC wifi.
just in the app the chosen band from RC to Spark

And again, but the last time:

You are happy with wifi from Phone to RC: Keep the 4.2.8
You wanna use cable: Uninstall 4.2.8 and test the 4.1.15 and 4.1.14 versions on apk mirror
Maybe your last 4.1.15 installation got corrupted.
Set it up, new, try if the switching happens again.
And make sure, your phones wifi is OFF, when having the RC powered on.
Like Vyborny83  wrote, you may had a cabel between RC and Phone, but the connection was still wifi.
And with RC to AC at 2.4, only the 5.8 could be used to the phone.
That is why I wrote to check with the analyzer, if it is happening again: You see the RC wifi, you are not otg connected!
