If during the flight the screen goes off, not important the reason is ( CS backlight prob or Phone out of juice) what is better to do:
1. try to exchange the phone, tablet, CS to another one quickly
2. press RTH on controller or maybe even power off controller
3. is there some better things to do?
Please advice
I have had an app crash on me with my iPhone and Pro was to far away to navigate back with the RC could not determine which way it was facing so I quickly changed the phone to my S8 and was back online but I found that the reason the app crashed on the iPhone(happened only once with this phone) was because i did not put it into flight mode and there was a lot of background apps still running.
1. Witnin VLOS fly her home. 2. Out of VLOS press RTH (This is what it is intended for). 3. Re-start App / swap device. As stated do not power off the RC.
When it happened to me I let go of the sticks so the machine just hovers wherever it is.
I gather my thoughts and figure the best course of action I also look for the strobe I put on it from Firehouse.
I never fly without it best $36.00 bucks I have ever spent.
RTH or figure which way it is facing from the last time I seen it on the screen.
That is exactly what I did when I lost connection. Just hit the RTH on controller. Don't power the controller off.
I found most loss connections for me was the cable. I ether bumped it or it was faulty.

I've lost connection once with my MPP as I stupidly rolled the drone and didn't realise that the tree line to my right caused an obstruction between the RC and AC - the screen went blank and took what felt like a life time to regain the live feed. Every second felt like a minute but I pressed and held the RTH button until it activated then released and waited - it flew back and as soon as signal regained I cancelled and resumed manual flight. OcuSync seems to take longer to regain signal so the key is to simply stay put and wait it out - never turn off the RC or you'll increase the risk of a fly away for sure.
