Hi Guys,

Perhaps this answered elsewhere already, but I couldn't find anything.  Is it possible to power the Ronin by V Mount batteries?  A V-Mount conversion of sorts?  My idea situation would be to install a V-Mount plate in place of the factory battery and run the rig via V-Mount.  And if I did that would I be able to power a RED via the D-Tap cable.  Basically I am looking to have one central battery for everything.  Thanks.

Anybody want to chime in on this? I'm surprised this isn't talked about in regards to running reds on a ronin.

This cable would theoretically allow you to power your camera from the Ronin battery via the p-tap. I haven't tested it, but I'd imagine that you'd have no problems. Obviously you would need to have multiple Ronin batts on hand since they won't last as long. This is the route I'm going, but I don't have everything in hand to verify yet.

That said, I do have some doubts about the P-tap providing enough voltage. I may fly a battery plate on the Ronin-M top handle to power the Epic.
