After upgrading to the first firmware release I got a message that said "Aircraft Upgrade Required" with this upgrade I get a message of "Camera Upgrade Required".
The Aircraft Upgrade Required message would go away and I was able to fly.


Anyone else see this?  I did a seach and didn't find any referance.

Everything looks fine.  Sync your flights to the cloud then remove and reinstall the App.  See if that helps.

Did all of that reinstalled app rebooted device but still get the error.

Advanced version and I had the same results with the first release.

At first it sounded like maybe the incorrect firmware version was installed but the "S" is the correct version for the advanced.

I have the same Problem with my Advanced.

I had the same warning....if you are using ios device that' s the problem. Start the remote controller and open the ios dji pilot app then start the phantom 3 with until you get the warning. Close the dji pilot app completly and open it again. The warning is gone.

Or you can just hit the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen in this video as I did.

Did you upgrade firmware on your controller as well? I followed this guidance from Ulysse.


1 - Better to format the SD card on the quad, using the app (it's the same for cameras : always format on the destination to avoid any format problems, especially on the Mac)
2 - Copy the .bin on the SD card root folder
3 - Eject the SD Card (Mac users are used to eject properly, not Windows users)
4 - RC : OFF - Quad : OFF
5 - Put SD card in the gimbal
6 - Power ON quad
7 - D.D.D.D...D.D.D.D...D.D.D.D for several minutes then D.DD...D.DD...D.DD
8 - Power OFF quad
9 - Link the RC to the gimbal using the provided white USB cable : one end on the gimbal, the other one on the RC standard USB port
10 - Power ON RC
11 - Power ON quad
12 - RC status light should turn blue (a very nice blue)
13 - D.D.D.D...D.D.D.D...D.D.D.D during several seconds then D.DD...D.DD...D.DD (all these beeps from the RC
14 - Power off quad
15 - Power off RC
16 - Remove SD card from gimbal and put in your Mac (or PC)
17 - There should be several .txt files (I had 3) : verify the final status written in each of them
18 - If everything is ok, remove the USB cable
19 - Go fly
20 - Keep safety your first priority
21 - Come back home
22 - Download your vids and picture on your Mac
23 - Enjoy
24 - Share (only if horizon is level, otherwise post-process)
25 - Time to sleep.

I followed the directions that came with the upgrade package.

Does the P3 battery update its firmware, when/while the quad is done its upgrading, or are there further steps to upgrade those, for the smart battery/batteries?

Also, Are the text files on the card, then removed while in the computer, once we know the updates were successful?
And should we leave the rest, to update future batteries?
