Hey Jack. With a back pack you should be able to store more equipment due to the extra compartments but hard case will protect the Pro more if it has to fall etc.

Not only that,  waterproof  case as well as one can use it to land the drone so that’s the reason I am having a hard time trying to make up my mind. Thank you

I looked at all kinds,  cases are nice however but limited space, I know I would probably be at the beaches most of  the time with the drone, then carrying my folding chair cooler etc etc.  One of the reason I am leaning towards back pack but made to accommodate MP.

Sounds like the water proof case would suit your needs better.

I went the easy way and got both . For storage and local use the MC-Case for the Fly More Combo and for travelling the National Geographic backpack.

I have the PeakDesign Everyday Backpack 20L and the Mavic Air fits perfectly in it : the MA in length side fits in the depth of the bag. ;)

Depending on your usage of course.
If you do a lot of walking / biking etc. I would go for something that is nice to carry.
(so not a hard case).
If the last part of the trips is only short (and you use the car for the rest), a hard case might be an option.
For the landing, you can also get a pad.

I have the hard case now but I feel the need for a backpack also.
I plan to get a backpack in the near future. On certain occasions one will work out  better the other.

I have both - an Incase compression case for storage and long distance travel and a Peak Design 5L Sling for carrying on my back through the countryside. I felt very self conscious carrying a hard case through famers fields to my flight locations and it's obvious to passers by that you don't have a packed lunch in there LOL
On the other hand, the case is more rugged, protective and organised but also has less storage space. I use the sling 99% of the time now and that's the one I would choose but both have pro's and con's.

I got a nice hard case that fits my drone with three batteries.  The case then fits easily in my backpack that I can then put other stuff in.  Perfect for me.

That might be best indeed if there is enough budget.
Or start with one of both and buy the second if you 'need' it.

iPad will fit in a foam slot above where hard orange case goes.
Lots of pockets with space.  Some pockets have sub-pockets.
DJI's compact carry case will fit down in top of backpack.

Backpack I use  < Link

Remember, when your drone takes a crap and crashes, you can't send them in for repairs with bought cases. Keep that in mind.

The backpack I posted has a built-in pull-out rain cover.  I would not say it is waterproof as in throw in a canoe and splash water on it.

I purchased a water resistant backpack myself. I should have said resistant.

As use mine as part of an outdoor company and already carrying a pack it would be difficult to carry another so have gone for the option of a range of smaller, individual hard cases. So far so good but looking into seperate pack for when taking the drone out solo.

I guess it would be considering that the mavic air is smaller than that of the MP

Being Mavic Air is smaller, you would need to add foam padding to Orange hard case.  Making your own cut-out foam insert for Mavic Air.
