First time I've sent the drone away from me at night. Previously just had it above the house. Went 1000m, thats the furthest its ever been away from me, even in daylight. What a rush. Remained in sight all the time. A bit grainy, but I will be doing that again.

Beatiful view, but can i ask , how do we get visual view of spark if video mode is on, the front LED indicator light is off..
.the only guide i get is from camera fpv view and back led light..any tips ?

You can get some LED flasher, if really needed.
I for myself have some but never used till now.
The LED from the bird are/have been enough of help.
And if it is out of sight, it is out of sight.
Avoiding that is the better task, methinks

As a question i have had for the longest of time, does the sparks leds technically fit the guidelines for night flight? The FAA is very vauge on non commercial night flights.

I kept the Spark within sight at all points of the flight. Looked at my flight record after the flight. The total flight was 1000m not 1000m away from me as I first thought. It was no more than 300m from me at any point, so could still see. :-)

I'm not sure about the FAA regs unfortunately  as in the UK.

But I maintained the same drone code rules as I would of for the daytime here in the UK.

No, they dont.
They are only a feedback for you how the status of the bird is

Great photos! I didn't think the Spark would be capable of such good night time photography. May I ask what your exposure settings were?

Thanks, I just used auto, but used AEB and merged in lightroom

A 1000m away and it remained in sight the whole time. Are you Hawkeye?

Yeah, I've noticed that in low light conditions though I've set my MA turn off all the LED's (including the back one) when flying so not to get that red hue in the footage

As I have ordered some LED Lights for Night Flights, they will be facing the back. These LEDs are from US and can be seen about from 2KM away, they are very very expensive.

I will soon give them a try later on this year. Now I am worried as you are saying even the Normal Rear Leds are creating that Coloured Hue/Glare right ?

It can do mate - it depends on the pitch angle of the drone - hovering isn't as bad as forward flight and also how dark it is impacts the hue. You can set the front LED's to switch off automatically in the app but when flying at night it is safer to have them on as generally the only way to physically see the drone as JKS states.

I have ordered some 3D Printed Mounts for them, they are like an enclosed mount, I will soon upload picture here.

I have so many boxes in my Garage, I now need to sort everything in my House, and get organized.

It will be a Trial and Error Process. Even I think if there is Humidity, Malta is an Island and suffers a lot with Humid Air, the Hue will be more visible. Like when you look at a Bright LampPost and you see that Round Aura around the Bulb at Night.
