Just wanted to take a survey about the need/want for a Low Noise Propeller for the Mavic Air. Maybe with enough support DJI would look into it. Personally I like the 8331's for the MP.

No need just an option.

The stock ones don't take space so no need to have foldable ones, but low noise would be nice

I wouldn't say the Mavic Air is very noisy, but if DJI managed to make quieter props I would buy them.

Yes, Air is quite noisy.

As drones go it’s not much more noisy than MPP, which is dji’s quietest drone but still can be quite noisy, after that it’s similar to all other dji drone quieter than phantom inspire or matrice, but a lot less quieter than a tractor lawnmower.

Which does not mean it cannot be quieter ;)

Hopefully in the future we will see more new technology that will fine tune the sound in these drones, it may take some more revolutionary design and technology but I’m sure dji will figure it out.

Yeah they should for sure make some for the MA.  I do not have the MA but the MP and I have the 8331's for my MP and for me they are much better.

I think folding props are easier to maintain and transport, makes things so much easier with the Spark and Mavic Pro.

The noise of MA attracting bugs. I need to clean the remains of bugs commonly after land. This problem may be solved by change the prop noise.

Low noise props would be amazing and something I'd order as soon as they were available but I do not mind at all whether or not they fold.

If you need more transportability than the Mavic Air offers, i'd be interested to try to understand why.

With the Mavic Air folded in, the props are the length of the body,  and don't seem to get in the way.  However, this is just my opinion.  Is there a specific use case that you have that would require folding props on the Mavic Air?

Mavic Air folds especially small but having folding props makes it even a smaller result.

I guess I'll just have to disagree.  With mine folded, the props are the length of the battery.  I can't see a portability benefit of folding props.

Is there any other benefit to folding props?   (really asking for information, because i don't know)

I was thinking that maybe the only way to introduce a Low Noise prop would require a folding version that's actually why I put it in the poll. That is a question for the engineers.

oh.  i didn't realize that folding props could help with noise level.  If that's the case, then i'm all for it!

I wonder how much more space the quiet props would take up?  Would it still fit in the carrying case if one added quiet props?

I'm in the same boat as you, I have no idea about the benefits of folding versus non-folding. The only rumor I heard about non-folding is the flight times are longer compared to folding. The 21 minute flight time probably would be less with folding, possibly reducing time by a few minutes?

You can try Spark folding props with Air. It still fly well but a bit short time. The performance may be affected but it works.

i would seriously have to weigh the pros and cons...  lost flight time, vs quieter flight.
I guess it would be very situational.
I flew for about 4 hours (on and off) this weekend at the lake.  Sound was not an issue at all.  my biggest issue was running back and forth to the truck to put the recently depleted battery on the charger.  However, i'm sure that won't always be the case.  i'd like to have the option though.

Well... not in the case of the MA. They've designed it so beautifully that the regular non folding props fit in just seamlessly. Any folding props would just make the mounts stick out more to the sides...

I allready have some complaints of people, making irritating noise with my DJI Mavic Air. My other drone (which is bigger) has a lower frequency noise and is much less unpleasant to the ears. So no complaints about the big one.
So low-noise props would be great!

It really just all depends on preference. I'm referring to folding props coming from a Spark and Mavic Pro, and many felt the Phantom not having similar folding props was something people wanted.

I was asked if I would take a picture of a soccer game of the Pre-K toddlers.  Luckily I waited until the very last few minutes of the game.  When I took off from some distance over.... the kids heard it and it stopped the game as they all started pointing and yelling "drone! drone!". lol  I could use quieter props.

Yeah, but the spark is non-foldable, and with the Mavic pro if you had non-foldable props they would stick out. But this is not the case with the Mavic Air.
