I was wondering if anybody has an RF power meter and has measured the various signal strengths.
There seems to be a growing consensus that DJI are implimenting lower power limits below what is allowed in various regions with later firmwares.
Many people are saying that the recent P4 Pro updates mean flights that were completed before without difficulty are now impossible.

I am trying to get a feel for the validity of these statements and what, if anything, can be done about it.

200 - 250 m LOS range is very poor DJI.

A quote from another site says rolling back to FW 01.01.023 and all is well again.

I have noticed a lot of weak transmission messages and lagging since the last update on the P4P, often RTH is initiated by drone from 200-300m out. Its very annoying.!

No problem here with range - all latest FW and App,  all ok

Are you FCC power or EU power limit?

EU here in the UK but no issue with any distance! - over 2km is plenty far enough and it didnt loose signal or picture - I just chickened going any further.

And that's with a Phantom 4 Pro?

Correct - Phantom 4 Pro - Obsidian to be exact (PS I have had 4.2km from my P3A !!!)

In eu, i lost signal at 3.249 kms (with latest firmware)

So I suppose those multiple Kilometre flights were out in the sticks somewhere?
Auto or custom channel selection? 2.4 or 5.8 GHz?High up on a hill?

Yo want to provide the region you are asking about. FCC (US) and CE (EU) are very different.
In FCC 5.8 is the way to go far downrange. In CE 5.8 cuts you off at a couple of hundred meters.
Also: Are you talking stock antenna?

This was the last thread i noticed, OP has never come back with further information.
I also has be convinced that the radio's was powered down last summer but i must admit after it was published that the P4P controllers now can be used for the other models i am unsure if it is the power or something in regard to the communication that has got messed up. Then came the UUID transmission that might also can be a cause of misbehave.
On thing is for sure, something is not right and to me it seem that downgrade don't help, oldest i have managed to locate is 1.1.203 and even this solved nothing, i guess it is because the module that mess up things are not contained in the older releases, while a factory FW might be needed for this original radio module.

Is that compared to any previous flights that went farther, or not?

I went further with previous remote (pro plus) firmware.
