Day out at Frinton on Sea, with endless beach huts, jet skis and the biggest kite I've ever seen flying....

Nice video, what was the wind state Ian for flying. Kites and gliders need some amount  wind to get airborne.

Cool Video, looks like the weather is getting nicer. Going to be in Church Gresley this summer visiting my daughter & family. Looking forward to the beautiful countryside. Want to tour Chatsworth as well.

It was a fairly stiff breeze up there above the beach. That kite needs a lot of wind to stay airborne....

Was this on Saturday?  I was not far up the coast at Aldeburgh and it was pretty breezy.  Nice day though.
Guess it was early too as you've got most of the beach to yourself?

Yes, Got there around 11am Saturday... was surprised how empty the beach was but we figured most people "go shopping" on Saturday morning, not to the beach!  

A stiff breeze indeed. Hence the guy zooming around on his Kite Board and of course the monster dragon kite.....
Aldeburgh is magic....

That Dragon kite was really neat.

I wonder how many people it takes to keep that huge dragon kite under control? I remember flying a crude, homemade paper kite when I was a teen, that was nearly 8 feet tall, and each strong gust of wind felt like it would almost lift me off the ground.

Actually it was one guy.  He had 2 huge wooden pegs driven into the ground; one kept the lift chute under control, that held the body and head up, and the other peg had a rope to control the main kite itself; I had a go at pulling on the main rope and it was like iron; there was a lot of pull on that one.....
(Good few grands-worth of kite there....)
