Hi all,

Beautiful,warm, peaceful sundown on knysna lagoon last nite.
Todays test was to see the outcome of an uploaded davinci edit that was not reduced in file size prior to uploading.
Looks horrid in low res but much better in 1080p playback.
Tough for me to say if there is that much improvement between reduced upload and non reduced upload - although maybe non reduced does have a bit of an edge?
Anyway i hope y'all enjoy the views.

Thanks sky - yeh the colors are so beautiful i often think how is that even possible. Such mind blowing beauty in natural creations.

thanks suren - it was davinci blackmagic (onboard) LUT - see image below.
The LUT used has the cursor next to it - the one below was also nice, maybe better for other lighting though.
After LUT was applied very little other color correction was done - i think i just toned down the brightness a bit?
Proper knowlage and use of color tools could surely make the image look better but i am not there yet.

I did notice the digest icon but rally have no idea what it means or how it got there.
You cant perhaps point me in the direction of some related info about digest?

It listed in the forum rules. The good thing is you got extra points and front page of the forum.

i wondered about that, so i tested it out.
The LUTS seem to apply to any style you shoot in. But it is hit and miss - not all LUTS look equally good on different footage.
My clip was shot in vivid +1-1_0 - so yes you can put these LUTS onto vivid style footage.
I have also applied d-log LUTS to non D-log footage and sometimes it works nicely, other times other LUTS have looked better.

The colors feel a bit too 'rich' to my likes.

Boy do I envy you. That was an a magnificent video.
Colors were so vivid and bright.
I see you are still using Davinci 14. Have you tried the Davinci 15 beta yet? I see where it has a lot more editing features added.

Was the video taken at Knysna, thought I saw the Heads at 1:27?

thats correct, it is knysna - if fly mostly at steenbok park on the island close to the Heads.
