In this video I uploaded you can hear the fan is loud unless you tip the Crystal Sky to a different angle.

Has anyone experienced this and should I be concerned?

I think the problem was that I posted the video on YouTube as Private. It should work now.

Crystal Sky Fan Noise

I have a CS5.5, when the fan kicks in it does not make that high pitch noise.
It's sounds like the fan is scraping the internal surface of the fan house or bad bearings.
The fan works like a gyro-scoop and will counteract on your turning.

I know this noise from graphic cards of laptops, best option in mine case was to replace the fan.
It's easy and low cost to repair. The bad fan did not do a lot of cooling and used a lot of current.

Update: Confirmed with our engineers, this is a normal phenomenon, no worries.

Please try to calibrate compass from here: Settings>Compass calibration to see whether it helps.

I already did several of times and in different ways, but not a with real improvement.
The first part of the calibration is going well, the second part will give on a small turn already OK.
I looks like the second part calibration is cut off by the program and give just an OK.

Thanks for the replay.

I did put this problem on another thread to see if there are some good working CS5.5 devices.

Maybe it is an idea to average the compass reading over say 15-20 seconds.
I do not mind a delay on this.
I am not dancing with the RC...
But getting a proper radar reading would be nice.
