The first upgrade took awhile but this latest one took me less than 5 minutes for both the Phantom and the Controller.

Watched the entire video - very good tutorial, but I'm still confused about something else....

How does one accurately identify what firmware resides in the craft now?

power your phantom and controller on connect you phone now select( camera )then hit the four dots in the right hand corner which is( general settings) then scroll all the way down then hit (about) and it will list which firmware you are currently on

On mine (I'm running the Android version) it says

Firmware  N/A

So it doesn't identify what I updated last night - I got successful text files to show both the P3 and controller were successfully upgraded.

Either the different versions for Apple and Others are different, or something else is amiss. Still nowhere on mine that shows my current P3 firmware.

Part of the problem is there are two different versions of the Pilot App - one for IOS and one for Android. My display is not the same as others are seeing.

I think I'm finally go for throttle up! Don't know if it's my device or just my head still in a dark spot! At any rate, I found the most recent Android version here on the DJI site. The problem was how to get that latest version over to the mobile device - my Galaxy S5.

Googled the problem - is "google" now the most active verb in the English language? - and came across a cute little application call AirDroid. You install the app on your mobile device and install a version on the PC and it allows you to drag-and-drop applications from the PC to the mobile device. Clever.

Now that I'm looking at the most recent version (for the Android), the screens look the way they're supposed to and the menus "line up" as expected, from the advice I've been receiving here.

The thread eventually got sort of mis-labeled. I wasn't having problems with upgrading/updating to the newest firmware - it was the menu content because the droid version I was using was not the most recent one available.

It appears to be straightened out for the moment.
