So, I'm new to the Ronin, had it about 2 weeks. I first played around with it using a Panasonic Camcorder, thing weighs about 0.5 lbs, soaking wet. Was able to balance, and switch to briefcase mode, etc... Fast forward... Now I want to try shooting with my Canon 6D Mark II with a Rokinon Cine DS lens, weighs about 5-6 lbs, which is well under the 8 lb limit. In normal mode it works fine, pans, rotates, tilts, etc... as expected.
Now, when I switch to briefcase mode, it tries and tries to adjust, and eventually, just ends up pointing straight up, or straight down. If I flip back to not briefcase mode, it works fine again. If I completely remove the camera, it enters briefcase mode fine, the gimbal plate is flat and level.

Is there a lower weight limit for briefcase mode? Or any other suggestions?

Hi, Might be the balance, when in briefcase mode check motor usage when you are in briefcase mode. I usually dont touch above 1 when checking motor usage, but when in briefcase mode they are at 5-7 even when my Ronin is static.
