Looks like you want to do a point-of-interest type of circling shot around an object (is this what you mean by boomerang?) Are you using the POI mode or doing the shot manually?

The POI works fine, cicle too.
But the boomerang behaves strangely, unpredictably and dangerously.
Am I doing something wrong?

I would hazard a guess the problem you are experiencing is from the structure you are flying from, causing magnetic interference. Heavily reinforced built on a slope of a hill.

If you got no warning messages I would calibrate the compass, IMU and refresh the FW and see if the problem persists. Hope this works out for you.

Please ignore my previous message. I didn't realize Boomerang is a mode on the MA!

I'd suggest calibrate IMU (on level surface), compass (out in wide open area), and gimbal, in that order as a first try to see if there's any improvement.

I specifically gave two more examples, where there is no monument, no hill. In this case, the hill normally works cicle

ALBERT Z I would send it into DJI for analysis, if it does POI with no issues the boomerang should work too. Especially after you have calibrated successfully the IMU, Compass and sensors. Send it in, it's not worth loosing your drone. Hope this works out for you and you are back in the air flying soon.

It's really strange that other autonomous modes work yet this particular one doesn't.  Have you tried the previous suggestion yet of IMU and Compass calibration and push Firmware update again?
