Hello everyone, So my family decided to take a vacation to Corolla, NC (OBX).  My wife and daughter would leave early in the morning to drive down, and I would leave later that afternoon (I work midnight shift, so had to catch me a few hours after getting off of work).  I had been toying around with the idea of getting a drone for a while.  Trying to read and research what would be best to start out with.  Well, we had an oceanfront beach house, so I figured now would be the perfect time to buy one and experiement.   So here I am, the proud new owner of a DJI Spark.  As excited I was, I started reading more and more about it once I got down to the beach.  I am now scared to death about possible fly aways.  It seems a lot is involved in just flying this thing.  My first experience with it was just getting used to the settings, updating firmware, and applying bandages to my finger because like an idiot, it started up in the house and I was afraid it would crash in to the ceiling so I grabbed it.  Big mistake. I took it out on the beach one day and carefully practiced with my first flight.  Not going to high, or too far (using Iphone).  I have the RC that came with the bundle, but could not get it to connect.  Looking at getting a cable for connection.   Anywho, here are a first couple of photos from my very first flight.

I can't help with technical issues, but nice photos, and welcome to the club. It took me a couple of months before I drew blood, so you're ahead of the game already.

You did a great job! Good shooting and please mount props guard when you fly it indoor.

I would suggest you do a YouTube search for the DJI page. They have a whole section of spark instructional videos that are just a couple of minutes each.

Welcome to the forum - good shots there!   

please ensire that you use prop guards during flight and that you fly atleast 20 meters high. Do not fly at altitudes less than 20 meters.
