Can I ask how you lengthened them?

Thanks in advance!

Rob, the knurled knob on the controller is composed of two parts. You can loosen the upper segment by grabbing it with your fingers and gently but firmly twisting counter clockwise, then unscrew it until you reach the length you want, then advance the lower section up to the upper section and tighten the two together.

Rob, just don't unscrew the upper knob too much. Not sure how easy it is to get back on its spindle.

I've taken it all the way off. Goes back on just fine.

Don't forget that you can adjust the expo value to get more or less sensitivity as desired.

How is the expo adjusted? I find most of my videos are a bit over exposed :/

I think you are confused.  Exposure is adjusted in the camera settings.

Control Exponent value is adjusted using the Drone Settings menus.

Ok, that made me laugh. Sorry, but thank you...
I truly and honestly know, that some of us here are still rank amateurs, who have never flown before.
Happy that you ARE learning...
Eh, we all had to begin our RC flying lessons some place, sometime... No time like the present.

There will be plenty of basic questions from me also, once my Phantom 3 Pro' arrives.
But reading the manuals several times is a great way to get a 'basic understanding' of  your particular  Phantom...

Have a great day, and smile, it looks good on you... Thanks again! ;-)

By the way, I think I would find it difficult to pinch the sticks, while holding up the radio and iPad. Even with a neck strap on my Spectrum Rx's, I still thumb them too. It just feels more natural & comfortable to me.

Those Bestem Aerial knobs are worth the money, l really like them. They seem to be built for thumb folk though, l can't imagine pinching them, they're a bit wide at the top.

When i started flying RC airplanes i used my thumbs all the time. it wasn't until I was learning to fly Helis that i went to the pinch method for more precise and controlled stick movements. Thats what works for me and have been pinching my sticks ever since.

Way back when I started flying RC I was told the 'pinch' method was more precise because of better dexterity on the index fingers vs thumbs only.

I never questioned the theory and have always flown that way.

I actually not only lengthened the sticks. I turned the top-part of the stick 180 degrees and installed it "upside down". That gives a softer (without pointy-bits) top of the stick for more comfort

Every RC Tx radio I have ever held in my hands, had thee sharp pointy bits on the 'thumb sticks', for better control.
I am a bit of a sweater, my palms-fingers, get wet, just thinking about certain subjects. And I would slip off the control knobs. While playing my Motif XF-8 too. No rhyme or reason.
And while I am enjoying flying, it must increase my adrenalin, even though I am completely and totally relaxed while flying at 1600' above me. Or less.
I am a born thumber, who tries not to "dumb thumb" the control sticks. It's quite natural and feels very comfortable.

I switch to thumbs if I need to adjust gimbal, shutter or operate switches. these things are so stable its not a problem to change grip styles as needed.
