If you aren't equipped to edit raw images, are you sure that you want to?
Despite the common recommendation that raw is "best", I would suggest (heretically) that shooting jpg images is all that most users need most of the time.
Yea.. True what Labroides say.
For "allround" photos JPG is ok, maybe with minor post corrections. If you
know what you do, RAW is amazing, but not nessesary.
For an example, I use RAW when shooting inspection pictures of components at
outdoor 60KV high voltage centers. This because I need to "pull out" the details in
shadows etc for my customer.
