im sorry for the loss!  did you open a warranty claim?  sounds like dji needs to ship you a new mavic air since it died like that.  i wouldnt consider that a pilot error, autolanding supposed to start around 13-15 percent...  and 65% power is plenty of power to get it atleast most of the way bakc or to a safe landing spot.

I did in fact open a warranty claim, however DJI said that they would not replace my Mavic Air under warranty because it's the pilot's fault for not "paying attention to the battery percentage" during flight. I tried to tell them that my battery level even turned back in the green and it no longer showed low battery on the way back (shown in the screen recording I managed to start during the incident) and how I still couldn't cancel the auto landing, but they believe that their products are perfect and that everything comes down to who's flying their product at the time of the incident (which is not the case whatsoever).

They gave me data that showed that the flight expectancy was 1-2 minutes for the whole flight, and it would go back and forth constantly between 1:00 and 2:00 (this is also shown in my screen recording). The battery had a full charge, which also shows that the battery definitely has something going on. DJI Support won't listen no matter how much data or info I provide them.

At this point, I'm out of $1100 and have 3 Mavic Air batteries, a carrying case, a controller, and many other accessories that I can't use. What now?

I appreciate you following up on my reply and continuing to give me useful info. If everybody was like you on this forum, it would be a much better environment and resource for solving and analyzing issues like mine. :-)

woooow... this is the sorta case needs legal attention.  you need to get in touch with an attorney give him or her this case, logs and all communications..

they basically admitted to their fault by saying the battery at full has at best 2 minutes of charge which isnt even an accurate reading, but denying you and blaming you for still flying it..  you as a pilot know your aircraft best, you were aware of how to fly and what all alerts mean, and at no point did the app indicate there was a serious error or malfunction with the battery, everything appeared functional from your end..  this isnt pilot error, this is a malfunction beyond your control, not the first time you have flown it.
this is on the level of a real manned aircraft having a fuel problem and no error anywhere to help them other than range left which wasnt even accurate, and then getting blamed for the fuel issue and crash after you recovered things....

DJI this is not how things work, there are laws protecting us that are in place when things are beyond our control and are a malfunction on your part.. this is violating laws in both the EU and the US as well as canada..

Well, this is encouraging.  The firmware doesn't appear to fix the problems most often cited on this thread.   I don't see it anywhere on the DJI website.  Where can we get it?  Thanks for posting this!

The problem with DJI is that when you point out a fault with their products, even if they recognize the fault, they would never admit to one of their products being defective (unless it's blatantly obvious) because that would discourage new customers from purchasing their products due to the lack of trust the consumer would have in their products and company.

At this point, I'm going to consult my credit card company and create a chargeback case if DJI doesn't make it right because I know that I received a defective unit, no matter how many times they try to convince me otherwise. I really appreciate your help. I'll keep you updated as far as DJI's future responses and the resolution of a possible chargeback case.

i wouldn't even bother with the "if" part   dji just wont.. i mean maybe they would be more intimidated by users with large social followings to make things right and keep you happy, but typical users like us..its like gambling at casino...always in the houses favor.

just charge it back.....make sure you keep all your documents in order incase card company want to see something more than a complaint.

This was a complete waste of my time. Doesn't fix anything.  It is old stuff and just for the remote controller.  No update for the MA firmware.  Why do you bother posting this stuff?

You provide a disservice to dji air users.  It is misleading and it takes time to wade through all of your bs to get to the point where a realization sets in that you've mislead users....again.  I should have known it was bogus vaporware as soon as I saw your moniker.  Hallmark007 my ass.

Well,  OK  …

You seem pretty adamant about it.  So I'm going back to recheck.  Maybe I made a mistake.  I don't think so, but maybe.   Wouldn't be the first time.  Going to check on it now...starting up the MA.   Be back in a few minutes.

You did make a mistake, more than one.

ok...I started up my MA and it notified me of a firmware update ... and more. So I am now updated from the .040 version to ....what is it? .050?  Yes, I think so.

So, I certainly owe you an apology.   Sorry about that.  Thanks for posting and reposting about the update.  I appreciate it.
